Dr. Anne Schaafhausen advises both domestic and international clients on all aspects of intellectual property law.
Her practice focuses on the filing, defense and enforcement of patents and utility models in the fields of chemistry, life sciences, pharmaceuticals, and medical devices. A further focus is the management of international IP portfolios and strategic advice.
Anne Schaafhausen is regularly involved in grant proceedings in these technical fields. A particular focus of her work is opposition and nullity proceedings as well as the enforcement of IP rights in infringement proceedings. She also regularly prepares expert opinions on patent law matters and freedom-to-operate opinions.
Furthermore, Anne Schaafhausen is highly knowledgeable in the field of employee invention law, as well as flat-rate inventor compensation and the calculation of individual inventor compensation. Her further training in the field of business mediation is of great benefit here, as it can avoid costly legal disputes.
Additionally, her extensive global network is a result of frequent participation in international conferences.
She volunteers as a member of the examination board for patent paralegals and on the vocational training committee of the German Chamber of Patent Attorneys.
