Dr. Maximilian Schaafhausen advises German and international clients on all aspects of intellectual property law.
His practice focuses on the prosecution, defense and enforcement of patents and utility models in the fields of telecommunications technology, software, IT & computer technology, in particular AI-based technology, energy, mechanical engineering, and electrical engineering.
Maximilian Schaafhausen is regularly involved in patent grant proceedings in these areas. A particular focus of his work is opposition and nullity proceedings as well as the enforcement of IP rights in infringement proceedings, often in the context of cross-border complexes. He also regularly prepares expert opinions on patent law issues and freedom-to-operate opinions.
Maximilian Schaafhausen also focuses on the registration and defense of trademarks and designs.
